Students must be able to navigate a flight of stairs as Heart of Yoga is located on the second floor. Gentle Structured around maintaining and/or increasing mobility, without causing strain or discomfort to the muscles or joints of the body. Options are given and props, such as blankets or bolsters, are used to accommodate each student's needs. This class is appropriate for all levels, including those with limited movement + Gentle Restorative Soothing and restorative to body and mind, class focuses on developing awareness of body and breath, and improving range of motion and joint mobility. All students including those with injuries, arthritis, or, if you are in the process of recovery, will find true peace in this class. + Beginners Hatha Yoga Beginners hatha yoga, students learn the fundamentals of yoga, including traditional warmups, basic poses (asanas), optional poses, and most importantly, breath, body, and mind awareness. Concise descriptions of how to get into poses, as well as modifications for all levels are provided. The class is suitable for all levels.+ Beginner Continuing For students interested in exploring a transition from Level I to Level II. New poses will be introduced, and others will be held longer to take your practice to a deeper level focusing on inner awareness Continuing Yoga Suitable for advanced beginners as well as those who want to take their practice deeper. Modifications for all levels are provided. Hip, abdominal and low back as well as spine strengthening are included. Spine health and focus on the intercostal rib muscles to enhance the breath, therefore improving the quality of your life are incorporated into this Hatha class. Yoga Breathing (Pranayama), deep relaxation and meditation . Mixed Level Geared for yoga practitioners who would like to explore advanced asanas (poses) and different variations of standard asanas. The emphasis is on deepening one's practice, while respecting one's limits. Suitable for those individuals with prior yoga experience and/or those who have completed a Beginners Yoga session and feel ready to move into advanced asanas.+ YogiBarre Barre Yoga is a fusion of ballet, yoga and pilates for a fun effective low-impact class. Class is appropriate for students of all levels. Movement is low-impact, protecting your joints by avoiding any bouncing or jumping. Each strength section of the workout is followed by a stretching section in order to create long, lean muscles without bulk. You will see a difference in your body and strength. This is accomplished by use of props, stretching muscles that have tightened and strengthening muscles that have become weak from this asymmetrical imbalance. Thereby the body will create a more effortless posture using the bone structure, rather than over working the muscles to hold itself up. Helpful in eliminating pain and bring some balance to the spine. + Joyful Yoga Mixed Level Refresh your body and mind with Roz on Monday evenings. Suitable for beginning students as well as those with a daily practice. Matt Yoga for Veterans This class is specifically designed for Veterans. The class format was designed by Mindful Yoga Therapy and is used in Veterans Hospitals throughout the country for Veterans in combination with traditional therapies for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The class is in honor and memory of Matthew Seidler, Airman 1st Class who paid the ultimate sacrifice to his country in January 2012 and, Ryan Cernohorsky, SGT. USMC. who suffered from PTSD.
